The Islington Lib Dems are constantly on the look out for local charities and initiatives we can support in our borough.

This year, as part of our Christmas charity appeal we choose the Islington Foodbank and The Toy Project as local causes to support. Local Islington Liberals gathered for an action day on Saturday 9th Dec before the Christmas break to organise a donation drive for both charities. We generated 1.2 tonnes of new food for the foodbank and gave over 50 toys to the Toy Project, a remarkable achievement.

Alain Desmier, Islington Lib Dem Chairman said "we were utterly overwhelmed with the generosity of Islington residents. From the moment we set up our stall, we were inundated with people wanting to donate to both charities. Our local members care very deeply about our local community and we're proud of this effort that will have helped some of borough neediest people over the Christmas break"
