Terry Stacy is a long time resident of Highbury and former Highbury Councillor.
Chair of governors of a local primary school, he has worked tirelessly to ensure that his primary school remains open throughout lockdown for key works children, and ensuring it is a safe learning environment for all children attending. Terry is a vocal campaigner on community safety issues in the area and chairs the local safer neighbourhood panel, and has been pushing the police to increase their presence across Highbury, more recently in and around Finsbury Park and Blackstock Road.
A housing association tenant himself he has been a housing campaigner for decades he has been actively involved in the Liberal Democrat campaign to stop landlords charging residents for the removal and replacement of dangerous cladding and for additional fire prevention works. His wider housing work and campaigning was acknowledged with his awarded of a MBE for his services to tenant involvement and housing in London.
He is a trustee of the Olden Community Garden, off Drayton Park, is presently Chair, helping to keep the garden open throughout the Covid lockdown, seeing its use increase by over 100%.
